A Little Guilt – Responding to Romans 1:18ff

And so, people neglect God for the sake of their own ends.  They love “created” things rather than the Creator.  In the absence of genuine Gospel centered submission to God, there arises materialism, pride, foolishness of all kinds, and a growing scriptural illiteracy.  Many grow up to claim they have the answers for which people search, but in fact have only the products of philosophical hogwash.  The Christian goal when dealing with guilt is to seek God’s glory rather than an improved self-image.  Life fails to make sense or have any purpose when we respond to guilt by seeking the benefits of therapy.  God seems to the rebellious a hard task master, if anything more than a fairytale.
